Market Focus
In this week, investors will focus on the interest rate decision from U.S. Federal Reserve on Wednesday. As usual, market players do not expect any change in interest rate, but they would like to any attitude change toward loosening monetary policy after the meeting. In the economic front, Housing Starts and Building Permits will be released on Tuesday, and Housing Price Index will be published on Thursday.
In Japan, current Bank of Japan Governor Shirakawa will step down on Tuesday and Haruhiko Kuroda will replace him as a governor. Investors pay attention to any unexpected actions from BOJ after Haruhiko Kuroda takes the power.
China and Europe’s PMIs will be released on Thursday. Investors expect the latest figure will show manufacturing sector is still expanding in China but contraction in Europe.
