Improving market sentiment helps to push global equities to higher levels last week. U.S’s S&P 500 Stock Index, Nikkei 225 index and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose by 1.07%, 2.38% and 1.01% respectively.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says he will decide whether to proceed with the first part of the two-stage plan after gauging the state of the economic recovery, especially GDP data that is due on Sept 9.
Japan's jobless rate falls to 3.9% in June
Japan’s jobless rate fell to 3.9% in June, dropping to the lowest point in more than four years, a government survey showed Tuesday. The rate beat forecasts by economists who on the average had expected the unemployment rate would stay unchanged at 4.1%.
U.S. private sector adds 200,000 jobs in July
U.S. private employers added 200,000 jobs in July, topping economists' expectations in an encouraging sign for the labor market recovery, a report by payrolls processor showed on last Wednesday. Economists had forecast the National Employment Report would show a gain of 180,000 jobs. June's private payrolls were revised up to an increase of 198,000 from the previously reported 188,000.
US economic growth at 1.7% in second quarter
The U.S. economy grew 1.7% in the second quarter, aided by stable consumer spending and a ramp-up in business investment, the government said Wednesday. The increase in gross domestic product was faster than Wall Street expected.
U.S. July Manufacturing PMI Jumps to 55.4
The ISM's manufacturing purchasing managers' index rose to 55.4 in July from 50.9 in June. A reading above 50 indicates expanding activity. July's reading is the highest since June 2011.
