Bank of France projects 0.4% GDP growth In Q4
The Bank of France last Tuesday said it expects the economy to expand 0.4 percent in the fourth quarter. The estimate is based on the monthly index of business activity. According to monthly survey, business confidence among manufacturers improved unexpectedly to 99 in October from 97 in September.
Japan September core machinery orders drop 2.1%
After seasonal adjustments, Japan's core machinery orders decreased 2.1% month-on-month in September, reversing the rebound of 5.4% in August but still worse than the expected 1.4% decline.
U.S. budget deficit narrows in October
The U.S. government's deficit for October totaled $91.59 billion, compared with a $120.00 billion shortfall during the same period a year earlier, the Treasury Department said last Wednesday in its monthly report.
UK unemployment rate falls to four-year low
The U.K.'s unemployment rate fell to its lowest level in more than four years in the three months to September. Data from the Office for National Statistics showed last Wednesday the unemployment rate fell to 7.6% between July and September.
U.S. Jobless Claims Drop by 2,000
Initial claims for jobless benefits declined by 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 339,000 in the week ended November 9, the Labor Department said last Thursday.The prior week's level was revised up to 341,000.
